What you should know about camera insurance:

  • Whether you are going on an individual holiday, package tour or backpacking – a camera is a must. Unfortunately cameras have proven to be extremely vulnerable to damage and it’s not uncommon for a camera to end up in the water, be dropped on the floor or get stolen. Good camera insurance provides financial security against these and further damages.
  • Camera insurance offers additional insurance covering typical dangers such as liquid or impact damage. If this kind of incident occurs despite all precautions, then simplesurance takes over the costs necessary to repair the damage. These costs should under no circumstances be underestimated, as display repair can run to a substantial three digit figure.

Frequently asked questions

“How can I insure my new camera?”

Simply select the applicable price range of your camera as well as your desired contract term. Apart from damage protection, you can add an optional theft protection in order to get your camera fully covered. Subsequently you will need to specify your name, address, email address and product serial number. The insurance certificate will then be emailed to you.

“How long is the contract term for my simplesurance camera protection?”

Your contract expires automatically after your chosen term. You do not have to terminate the contract and it will not be extended automatically. However, before the contract expires, you can easily extend your device insurance for another 12 months online.

“My camera is damaged. What do I need to do?”

You can easily report any damages via our website. After filling out the report form, you will be emailed a dispatch note. With this you can send your faulty device free of charge to one of our certified repair shops. It will be returned to you as soon as possible.
In case of theft, the process is almost the same. Instead of covering the repair, we will usually reimburse the purchase price of a new device. We will always keep you updated about the status of your damage claim.
